Jay Acton, Director Emeritus
Jay Acton has spent over twenty-five years in professional baseball. He has owned and run affiliated teams—the Watertown Pirates (Pittsburgh), South Bend White Sox (Chicago) and Peninsula Pilots (Seattle). Over one hundred major league players including Moises Alou, Tim Wakefield, Bret Boone and Joe Nathan got their starts on his teams. He has also been a stockholder and owned or operated independent professional teams in the NY-Penn League, the Carolina League, the Empire State League, the Northeast League, the Western League, the New York State League, the Can-Am League and the Pecos League. He is the co-author with Nick Bakalar of the book GREEN DIAMONDS: The Pleasures and Perils of Investing in Minor League Baseball.
Eric Pierzchala, Director
With a long resume in international and independent baseball, Eric has been a player in the United, the Frontier and the Continental leagues. He managed the Coastal Kingfish in the CBL. He is also the author of THE ULTIMATE DETROIT TIGERS TRIVIA BOOK published by Random House in 2007. He is also the League's pitching "guru".
Bill Consiglio, Associate Director of Personnel
Bill joined the NYSL staff in 2011. He has a long record of college and high school baseball coaching in the NYC Metro area. Formerly on the coaching staff of St. John's University and currently coaching at Saunders High in Yonkers, Bill has had over 80 players sign to play pro ball.
Brad Jackson, Associate Director of Personnel
Brad is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University. He played in the NYSL in 2009 and 2010. He was the League MVP in 2010. He was also rostered by Quebec (Can-Am) and Windy City (FL). He played for the NYSL Federals in 2011. Brad is a supervisor at the Performance Factory in Farmingdale, NY.
